Some play EVE online for the thrill of throwing in everything, risking costly virtual assets, to feel a rush of adrenaline in the interplanetary fights. And some enjoy building vessels of immense scale to sell them to the mentioned warmongers. To me EVE is fascinating due to being a market simulator: Players can run the supply chain for almost all goods in the game and sell them on several markets mostly shaped by supply and demand. In its entirety it is an imperfect market, though.
